Notes on the origin of the Club des chiens du Tibet in France

Mademoiselle Violette DUPONT was the first to introduce the breed into France and onto the Continent. She created the " Club des Chiens du Tibet " on the 26th February 1960. The first meeting took place on the 5th March at " La Regence " coffee-house, Place du Theatre Français – in Paris.

In that meeting many connoisseurs and personalities were present, amongst them : Col. and Hon. Mrs. BAILEY, Lady Freda VALENTINE, Mrs HARDING, Mme. NIZET de LEEMAN, Mme. LETARD (wife of Prof. LETARD of Maison Alfort – one of the major Veterinary Schools in France-),

Under the affix " ANNAPURNA " Mademoiselle DUPONT’s Lhasas, issued from a Tibetan origin male " XERES " and " Hamilton Kangmar " were very much appreciated by genuin fanciers.
